Draw Shading For Beginners

Have you always wanted to draw? Did you want to learn the secrets of how artist makes a perfect picture or portrait? Well it's your lucking day because I,m going to tell you those secrets today so you can become a creator yourself. First off I want to tell you a artist makes mistakes too, I'm saying this because some people who do art as a beginner they give you because their picture doesn't look the way they want it to be. (And that's okay it happens to all artist. Even famous ones) So I just wanted to point it out, and whatever you do don't give up if you want to be an artist it just takes practice.(You can do it) Now lets get stated.

The first secret is shading. Shading is what make the picture more realistic, and 3D. Here is an example.

As you look at the portrait it's make from a regular pencil, and you can use color pencils as a option too. For shading you must have patience , and have a certain angle of the pencil. ( I will put a link do below for a example.) Also the harder you press the pencil on the paper the dark the shading will be, and if you are making a light drawing then put less pressure on the pencil. That is what shading is, now let me tell you more. Also to add you see there are certain place to shade for a portrait to become realistic.

The second technique is stippling. Stippling is were you can use a pen or a pencil for your drawing, but the point of stippling is you make a picture by just making dots into a picture. Here is a example.

As you look at the picture you see a ball that looks like someone just made a plain circle, and just made dots. (Wrong.) They made this picture from ink, and made a 3D shape by using dots. For stippling you have to put dots closer together for a more darker shade, and put less dots together for a lighter shade. You may see this very difficult, but as you get the hang of it you will become a stippling master. Now I'm going to tell you the last technique to become a first basic artist for drawing.

The last drawing shading technique is cross shading. Have you ever seen the design of a straw hat well that is a example of cross shading if you look close enough. Anyway cross shading is when you make lines that cross over to each other. Let me show you.

As you can see here there are lines that cross over each other, and the more line you put together the more darker the shade will be. Also the less lines that cross over then the less the shading it looks. As I end here I want to talk about why shading is important. It's important because once you add shading to your drawing the more unique it is. Also I shared this post because I know a lot of people want to be artist, and that's why I showed the basic shading techniques to help them know that shading adds 3D effect to help make the art look real. I hope this was helpful, and wants you to practice more art in the future. Thank you, and good luck.
